    How do I get started with Google Ads?

    “He who searches, finds. And those who want to be found place Google Ads. For many, the term Google Ads is already common and they know the advantages of the search engine and advertising platform Google.

    For the others who don’t know this term, I’m happy to explain it here. Everyone knows or has heard of the Turkish bazaar in Istanbul. An endlessly long collection of vendors who draw customers into their small stalls and proudly present their wares. Whether the customer is looking for that exact product is irrelevant to the merchant. In Google Ads, there is exactly the opposite. Here is the bazaar, the search engine, where customers come and look for products. The suppliers draw attention to themselves here by means of advertisements.

    The customer thus receives exactly the right product he was looking for.

    Costs

    You often hear objections like that people don’t click on the ads. There are also people who don’t click on the ads on principle. The beauty of Google Ads is that you only pay when someone clicks on your ad.

    This cost variant is called CPC (Cost per Click). There are no other costs, such as placement costs, processing costs, etc. with Google Ads.

    Google Ads offers the following advantages:

    • Company is found when it is searched for.
    • Quick and easy promotion of products and services.
    • Positioning in the top positions quickly possible.
    • Simple campaign planning (start, pause, end)
    • Target group can be planned according to location (e.g. only apply in Lucerne)
    • Campaigns can be limited in time (e.g. switching from 08.00 – 18.00 hrs.)
    • Campaigns can be limited to end devices (computer, tablet, smartphone)
    • Interesting analysis tools (bounce rate, quality factors, impressions, etc.)
    • Precise budget control

    Start with Google Ads

    Setting up a Google Ads account is not difficult and takes about 5-10 minutes. To do this, go to https://ads.google.com/home/ and click on “Get started now”. You will receive step-by-step instructions on how to open a Google Ads account. In order to start advertising on Google Ads, you will need a credit card to cover the costs of your campaigns.

    Google Ads Conversion

    With visitor action evaluation, or conversion tracking for short, you can analyse which actions your advertising media lead to. You learn which keywords and ads have generated conversions and can therefore delete cost-intensive and less profitable keywords without conversions.

    For this reason, the next important step after creating an Ads account is to define and create the conversion actions. Click on the “Tool” tab at the top of the page and click on “Conversion”.

    By clicking on the “+Conversion” button, you can define new conversions and specify which actions are to be measured. One of the most important conversions is the purchase of a product. This action shows you when a product has been successfully purchased by a customer. In order for this conversion to be measured, the conversion tracking code that is generated must be included in the thank you page (final page after the purchase). Depending on the CMS system, there is a plugin for this or it can be included in the HTML code.

    After you have entered the tracking code, all actions that result from an ad campaign are displayed. You can quickly see which keywords and ads achieve the desired success and which do not.
